The new owners of the historic Sloughhouse Inn off Jackson Highway hope to continue tradition as they prepare for their grand opening on Monday.

George and Leah Lee were attracted to the restaurant’s storied past. The land was first developed in the 1800’s, and hosted many celebrations over the years.

“It’s not just a few years back, it’s 20 years ago, 50 years ago, (people) talking about coming here with family, friends,” Leah said.

The restaurant was closed in 2006, and, since then, Facebook users have lobbied for its reopening. A page calling to the restaurant’s revival attracted 1,800 “likes.”

They opened with a soft opening the week of Valentines Day!

I would SURE like to know how they opened? The do not have a Ficticous Name license on file with the secretary of State, they have NOT had their health inspection- where is there green paper stating the big PASS?

They DO NOT have workers comp insurance-

They HAVE NOT paid ANY employee payroll taxes- they pay all employees under the table. Gee…. not one employee was paid for more than 20 days….

The owner tells employees to clock off and on when not busy

    dont pay wages promised

Employee military veterans that are on medical disability- paid cash under table!

    Has ANYONE looked into this?
