Anthony Lamar Jones, the man suspected in the killing of 13-year-old Genelle Conway-Allen, appeared in Solano County Superior Court Wednesday.
District Attorney Donald du Bain formally announced what Jones is being charged with.
Jones is charged with one count of murder, along with three other charges considered to be special circumstances in California: the murder was committed during a kidnapping, the murder was committed during a rape and the murder was committed during a lewd or lascivious act on a child under 14.
Conway-Allen was found in Fairfield’s Allen Witt Park on Feb. 1, one day after disappearing after school in Suisun City.
Jones was arrested one week after Conway-Allen’s body was found. Police say he had been under surveillance for several days.
