The California Highway Patrol will be holding a special program for teenage drivers in Vacaville over the next week.
Start Smart aims to educate first-time teenage drivers. Authorities note that, in 66% of all deadly crashes teenage drivers are involved in, the teen is found to be at fault.
Further, car crashes are the leading cause of death for teens and young adults.
The two-hour classes, which are free, will be held Feb. 19 at the Vacaville Public Library. The classes will run from 6 to 8:15 p.m., with parents required to also show up.
Another session will also be held Feb. 21, from 6 to 8:15 p.m., at the Benicia Public Library in Benicia.
