PETALUMA-
An autopsy has revealed that a Petaluma teen that went missing after a New Year’s Eve concert in South Lake Tahoe died from “probable” hypothermia and had drugs in her system.
Alyssa Byrne, 19, apparently was found to have methamphetamine toxicity and had ingested psychoactive drugs.
Byrne had attended the SnowGlobe Music Festival on New Year’s Eve. She disappeared that evening and was found Jan. 4.
Byrne wasn’t found for a few days because she was on a snow bank and not visible from the road. The El Dorado County Sheriff Department says it’s common for people to climb snow banks to get out of the way of traffic.
