Mark Twain Elementary Protests Possible Closure

marktwainpicSOUTH SACRAMENTO–

Students, teachers and parents protested outside of the Mark Twain Elementary School Tuesday morning in hopes of stopping a possible closure of the school.

Mark Twain was not originally on the list of 11 different under enrolled schools in the district slated to close down. But, after reconsidering shutting down Tahoe Elementary, it is now down to the two schools in a battle of who will stay and who will go.

Thursday is when district officials will vote on closing the other ten schools on the list.

March 7 is when the vote on Mark Twain or Tahoe will come down.

This is so crappy! Now these kids will be bussed into our school more than li which is already full enough and dealing with social problems from when they bussed in kids from the parkway school. They need to stop over crowding our school and leave these ones open. I swear private school is looking better by the day.
