Police say they have a suspect in custody after a shooting took the life of a 21-year-old man late Monday night.

Officers showed up near West Lane and Hammertown Drive a little before midnight after reports of a person shot. At the scene, they found a 21-year-old man. He was taken to the hospital, but was pronounced deceased.

Police later learned that the shooting happened a mile and half south of where authorities found the man, along Holiday Drive off of E March Lane.

Early Tuesday morning, police announced that a suspect in the shooting had been taken into custody.

Police say they are still continuing their investigation into the incident.
