Thieves Steal Copper Wiring from on top of Businesses, Church
Two men were caught Friday morning stealing copper wiring from several businesses and a church in Rancho Cordova.
A security guard saw two men on the roof of a building along Horn Road, between Folsom Boulevard and Highway 50.
Sacramento County Sheriffs’ deputies arrived to find the two men running away.
They were caught, and deputies found a bag containing copper materials and tools used to steal it.
One business owner says the stolen copper and damage to the A/C unit will cost tens of thousands of dollars.
Deputies found several rooftop air conditioning units had been tampered with.
John Whitlock, 30, and Casey Solano, 24, were both booked into jail for grand theft of copper material, criminal conspiracy and a violation of probation.
