Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man they say ran from them twice in one day.
Authorities say they were making a traffic stop on Zaveone Grant early Sunday morning, but Grant decided he wasn’t going to stop. After colliding with a patrol car, Grant fled on foot, according to the sheriff’s department.
Deputies were able to arrest Grant, and took him to Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael as a result of some minor injuries he sustained during the chase.
At one point, deputies uncuffed Grant. He took advantage of the situation and ran, according to authorities.
Grant was arrested the same morning in a neighborhood around the hospital.
The sheriff’s department says it is sometimes necessary to uncuff suspects at the hospital to accommodate doctors and nurses who need to perform procedures or checkups.
