Suspect Shot and Killed In Officer Involved Shooting

Stockton Police Partnership With CHP A Success So Far

At approximately 9 last night, the San Joaquin County Task Force pulled over a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle that was involved in an armed robbery.

As the officers got out of their car and approached the vehicle, the driver put it in reverse and tried to hit the officers. Being a obviouis threat, the two officers drew their weapons and shot at the driver.  The driver was hit and taken out of the vehicle.  Located in the driver’s waist band was a loaded handgun.

The driver was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The two officers were not injured.

Both the San Joaquin Sheriff’s Department and the Stockton Police Department are investigating this incident.
