Officers outside American River College in Natomas after a lockdown was lifted Thursday.

Reports of a man with a gun locked down a high school, elementary school and college for a short time Thursday morning.

Around 9 a.m., Sacramento Police officers headed to Natomas to look for the armed man. Students at American River College Natomas, Inderkum High School and a nearby elementary school were asked to be inside, and stay where they are.

After less than an hour, officers could not find anyone with a weapon in the area, and the schools returned to normal.

Students at ARC were notified about the incident via text message from the school.
