Just in time for some March powder days in the Sierra, skiers and snowboarders are finding great deals on snow gear at area retailers.
FOX40 visited the Ground Zero Boardshop in Davis on Monday, one of several shops we contacted where the winter gear is now marked down. At Ground Zero, the discounts are 30 percent and greater.
“Usually we run these discounts closer to the end of March,” said store co-founder Brendan Mohr.
The early markdowns are due to the unusually warm and dry weather of the past two months. But now a storm system is on the approach that has the potential to bring a few feet of fresh powder to the slopes between Wednesday and Friday.
“People can upgrade their gear and get a lot of riding in still,” Mohr advised.
