AUBURN—

Police arrested a boy Sunday night after a dry ice bomb was found in a parking lot.

A patrol officer happened across the scene while driving near Pacific Avenue and Sacramento Street around 11:15 p.m.

The officer noticed someone standing near a car, only to find that four other people were in the area.

On the ground was large plastic bottle, presumed to be an explosive device.

An explosive ordinance team had to be called out to get rid of the device, which was eventually found to be a dry ice bomb.

Authorities allege that the bomb was made by one of the boys in the group, with the others helping the boy in collection components for the device.

The boy in question was arrested and booked into Placer County Juvenile Hall. The other four were released to the parents, with authorities debating possible charges for them as well.
