Extra law enforcement and school district officials will be at a high school in Tracy this week, in response to threats of violence.
According to a statement from Kimball High School, rumors about the threats were posted on Twitter Monday, and referred to a statement scrawled in a bathroom on campus last week.
Tracy Police and school administrators are investigating the threats. Police say they are working with the district and providing extra patrols as possible this week.
“We wish to remind everyone that threatening or speaking inappropriately about school students and/or staff members is in violation of district policy and is against the law.”
The statement from the school goes on to encourage parents to talk to their students about rumors and threats about the school.
