Joe Montana still is no ordinary Joe.
Montana, by far, upstaged the other six inductees Wednesday evening at the 7th annual California Hall of Fame ceremony, which included film legend Warren Beatty.
“I thought they’d be now long faded,” said Montana about fans everlasting love for number 16. “It’s great. People recognize what we did as a team in the 80’s and early 90’s. It’s fun.”
Montana, by far though, is the one remembered by most. His four Super Bowl titles and 31 fourth quarter comeback victories already have earned him a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Now he’s part of California’s history for playing what quarterback describes as a “silly” game.
“A bunch of dumb jocks, right? I look around and I try to figure out what I’m doing here when I see all the other co-recipients,” Montana said.
