About 100 people are settling in for a 24-hour stay outside a restaurant in Granite Bay.

A new Chick-fil-A is opening Thursday, but dozens of people flocked there Wednesday to start camping out to win a free sandwich meal a week, for a year.

Everyone who showed up at 6 a.m. Wednesday received a wristband, then began their 24-hour mission. The first 100 people who are still waiting outside Thursday morning, will receive the free sandwich meals for a year.

For those who would rather not wait outside for their meal, the Granite Bay Chick-fil-A location will open after the first 100 are let in Thursday morning.

The new restaurant is along Douglas Boulevard and hired about 75 people from the community.
