‘Celebrate Your Pit Bull’ Raises Awareness About Breed

ELK GROVE–

In an effort to raise awareness about the often misunderstood breed, pit bull owners were out in force Saturday for “Celebrate Your Pit Bull” day.

The Sacramento SPCA, along with the City of Sacramento Animal Care Services and Sacramento County Animal Care & Regulation, were out at numerous parks throughout the region to provide pit bull owners with free services — like vaccinations, microchips and spay & neuter vouchers — for their dogs.

Pit bulls are often the most prominent dog seen in shelters. Attendees at Saturday’s events maintained that the breed has been unfairly characterized as a vicious animal.

Pit bulls are the ugliest, most dangerous dog breed. Why would anyone in their right mind want one? Pit bulls should be neutered out of existence.
