King Fire Revealed to be Arson, Man Arrested

Help Needed to Find Drive-by Shooting Suspect

18th, East Nichols shooting

Crime scene tape up near 18th and East Nichols in Sacramento, where deputies are investigating a deadly shooting.

OAK PARK-

Deputies need the community’s help to find who opened fire on a parked car in the Oak Park neighborhood, killing a man.

Just before 11 Wednesday morning, near Nichols and 16th Avenue, a man sitting in a blue sedan was shot and killed. Sources tell FOX40 the man had a child, and was expecting his second soon.

“Family members showed up at the scene very soon afterwords, so [its] obviously a very upsetting situation to them,” said Sgt. Jason Ramos.

Neighbors FOX40 spoke to said a car drove by and opened fire, sending several shots into the blue sedan parked along the side of the road.

“We haven’t identified any other occupants of the vehicle that is parked where the victim is now. It’s certainly possible, since he was on the passenger side … that someone else fled while this was going on. The vehicle is not registered to our victim here,” Ramos said.
Investigators from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department will only say the man who died is 25 years old. They believe the shooting may be gang related, but would not elaborate.

They also do not have a very good description of the car or the people who opened fire.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sheriff’s investigators at (916) 874-5051.
