A five-year-old girl has been reunited with her pet cat, eight days after it scurried up a large tree and couldn’t get back down.
A viewer in Rancho Cordova reached out to FOX40 Friday morning reporting the grey and white cat had been sitting about 30-to-40 feet in a tree for more than a week. They said they called animal control, and was directed to the fire department. Firefighters responded, but scared the cat further up the tree.
Friday morning, after being contacted by FOX40, Sacramento Metro firefighters came out to the home on Rio Bravo Circle again, this time with the help of Tree Care, Inc.
While cameras were rolling, a man was able to get close enough to the cat in the tree, to capture him and bring the animal back down to the ground.
The little girl was all smiles as her pet cat was returned.
