Sacramento Area Coach Arrested for Sexually Assaulting a Young Family Member

SACRAMENTO -

Daniel Kirk coached and managed fields of dreams for more than 800 kids in the North Natomas Little League, but it’s what police say Kirk did to one child, off the diamond, that has his colleagues shocked.

Brian Giovacchini, President of the North Natomas Little League said, “we feel really bad. It’s a very sad situation for the people who were affected.”

Giovacchini is the president of the league Kirk worked with for two years and accepted his resignation as fields coordinator on Tuesday. He said, “it was a surprise when we got it in Tuesday. We reached back out to him to get the info back from our little league and at that point he didn’t call back.”

Two days after that, Kirk was jailed after Sacramento police arrested him for sexually assaulting a teenage relative multiple times over the last 4 years.

With the  kind of access the 42 year old had to kids who just wanted to play baseball, detectives are looking for any other potential victims to come forward.

It’s a daunting possibility for those who worked alongside Kirk to help kids have fun.
