Toddler Ejected from Range Rover Survives, One Dead in Crash

SACRAMENTO –

A man is dead after a late night car accident on Folsom and Sunrise Blvd. Friday night.

Rancho Cordova Police are investigating the crash which happened just after 11 p.m..

Police said that a man driving a Volvo was speeding on Folsom Blvd. then smashed into a Range Rover. Officers said the impact was so intense that it caused a chain reaction between the Range Rover and three other cars.

The driver of the Volvo died at the scene. Coroner’s records identify the driver as Ivan Calvin, 51.

A four-year-old boy was ejected from the Range Rover but had non-life threatening injuries.

The boy and four other people were taken to the hospital.
