Man Suspected of Punching People, Resisting Arrest
Police say they dealt with a fairly combative person late Friday afternoon, a man they also had trouble arresting.
Officers showed up at a store near N El Dorado and E Park streets around 5:15 p.m. when they got a report about a man punching customers.
At the scene, the store’s manager told police that the suspect had also flipped over a table on his way out.
Police found the man and tried talking to him, but he allegedly refused to cooperate or speak to them. The officers then tried to detain him, only to have the man pull and away and push an officer against the wall.
Pepper spray was deployed, but it didn’t work.
The officers then resorted to using their batons. The man, 34-year-old Kevin Reaties, was soon taken into custody once more officers showed up.
Reaties now faces vandalism, battery on an officer and resisting arrest charges.
