Sacramento Police arrested a man who they believe killed his infant daughter.
Alias McLaughlin, 20, was taken into custody Wednesday evening.
Officers were called to the UC Davis Medical Center May 10 about a baby that was taken to the emergency room. The baby died from her injuries soon after.
Police interviewed the baby’s family at the hospital. Tuesday, it was revealed that the girl died of blunt force trauma to the head.
Detectives say McLaughlin doled out the abuse that led to his daughter’s death. Investigators believe McLaughin was woken up by his daughter’s crying, and he then threw her down and shook her. Police say the girl’s mother tried to intervene, but McLaughlin assaulted her, too.
McLaughlin was booked for murder.
