The man accused of throwing a 7-year-old girl in the trunk of his car appeared in court Monday, where his bail amount was increased from $1 million to $4 million.
The girl managed to escape.
Prosecutors argued that 25-year-old Cedric Holland is a danger to the community and pointed out that this isn’t the first time he was in trouble with the law.
According to court documents, Holland was charged in 2006 with three felony counts of lewd acts with a child under 14 but those charges were later dismissed.
He was charged again the same year, where he pleaded no contest and served six years in a juvenile facility. Holland was back behind bars in 2011 after he reportedly failed to register as a sex offender.
Holland was let out in 2012. He’s now accused of the alleged attempted kidnapping.
