An overturned cement truck has closed down Twin Cities Road near River Road Tuesday.
The crash was first reported just before 11:30 a.m.
CHP says that a driver who has only been with the truck company for a week was with an instructor when he truck came up on a curb too fast. The payload of cement in the truck sloshed around, shifting the center of gravity and contributed to the driver losing control of the truck.
The truck soon crashed, falling on the driver’s side.
CHP says that the driver is unconscious and suffered severe head trauma in the crash.
The roadway is estimated to be closed for around 4 hours. The crash caused a 3 inch divot in the roadway, which CHP says needs to be fixed before the roadway can reopen.
A load of wet cement was also spilled, but most of it fell off the roadway.
