Investigators: Someone Ran Off Just After Double Shooting

north highlands, shooting, may 27

Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies investigate a double shooting at an apartment complex in North Highlands.

Sacramento County Sheriff’s investigators believe someone ran off just after two people were shot and killed Monday afternoon at a Foothill Farms apartment complex.

The male victim was 43, and the woman was 24. Investigators say the two were connected to the apartment complex, off Roseville Road near Walerga Road, but they did not live there.

Investigators say that there was an argument or fight that led to the shooting, and someone was spotted running from the area right after. Deputies do not have a description of the alleged shooter.

The shooting happened within a mile of where a 10-year-old girl was shot and killed in her home May 18.

Sheriff’s spokesperson Sergeant Jason Ramos says there has been a recent flare-up of violence in the area.
