According to a new study by the ACLU, blacks are nearly four times more likely to be arrested for marijuana possession than whites.
Their data suggests that both groups use pot at about the same rate, but the arrest rate is 3.7 higher for black people. The data is the same in both rural and urban areas across the country.
California has the fourth highest number of arrests for marijuana possession in the U.S.
In 2010, the ALCU said that a pot bust happened in America every 37 seconds.
