SACRAMENTO—

A vigil is planned Wednesday for Specialist Ray Ramirez, who was killed in Afghanistan on Saturday, a family friend told FOX40.

The vigil will take place at the Tahoe Tallac Baseball Diamonds on San Joaquin Street, off of 65th Street, starting at 7 p.m.

Ramirez’ family will be at the vigil.

The Department of Defense announced Ramirez’ death on Monday. His unit was attacked by an improvised explosive device.

Ramirez attended Florin High School and played for the baseball team.
