A man is facing a murder charge after sheriff’s say he attacked another man with a baseball last week.
Deputies showed up near Pershing and Chestnut avenues early Thursday evening after getting a call from a woman who feared for her life. Apparently, the woman was housesitting for a friend when a man at the place refused to leave.
The woman had also called her husband to help protect her until deputies could show up.
But, while on their way to the area, deputies were told that the woman’s husband – 62-year-old James Marlow – had been attacked by that man who refused to leave.
Once at the scene, deputies found Marlow and his wife in front of the house. Sheriff’s say that Marlow was able to talk to deputies and identify 32-year-old Brandon Biagioni as the attacker, in spite of his injuries.
Biagioni soon walked out of the home and was arrested. Marlow was taken to the hospital but died of his injuries a few hours later.
Sheriff’s say that Marlow was the one who brought the bat to the home. However, Biagioni reportedly attacked Marlow without provocation, knocking Marlow down, then taking the bat and hitting him in the head.
Biagioni now faces a charge of murder. He is being held at Sacramento County Jail and is ineligible for bail.
