Carstens Fire Evacuation Center Set Up at Elementary School

The Carstens Fire is burning in Mariposa County.

A fire burning about 40 miles outside Yosemite National Park is only 60% contained Thursday morning.

The Carstens Fire has burned 1,660 acres and is still threatening 50 structures in Mariposa County, off Highway 140. Only a few of the evacuation orders are still in effect.

The fire started Sunday, and investigators believe it was caused by an unattended campfire.
