Police say that they were able to arrest a man who led them on a car chase after he crashed into some light rail crossing arms.
Officers showed up to a parking lot near Northgate Boulevard and Garden Highway just after 4:30 p.m. They were told that someone was trying to steal a car.
At the scene, officers say they saw the stolen car driving off. The officers chased the car for a short while, but say they had to break it off due to public safety concerns.
A little while later, the stolen car was seen crashing into a RT light rail crossing a short distance awhile. The driver – 34-year-old Jason Wright – then tried to get away on foot, but officers were able to catch up to him and taken him into custody.
Wright now faces stolen vehicle, evading police and resisting police officer charges.
