With the imminent closure of the Campbell’s Soup plant, Sacramento City leaders are looking for ways to bring new businesses to the city.

The Campbell’s Soup plant in South Sacramento will remain open until at least the end of July, shipping out remaining product.

The company announced last year they would close the facility, and has staggered layoffs.

The final group was going to finish up operations in early July, according to filings with the California Employment Development Department last year.

FOX40 has learned some employees were told they will be needed until at least the end of July to handle more than a million cases in product that needs to be sent out.
