Police are crediting neighbors for helping catch four young men who broke into a Roseville elementary school to skateboard.
Around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, the neighbors reported to police that they saw a group of men taking a bolt cutter to the gate locks at Sargeant Elementary School near N. Cirby and Ridgecrest Ways.
The men, aged between 18 and 26, then started skateboarding on the campus.
Officers showed up and soon arrested the men, who are said to be from Sacramento, Folsom and Stockton.
All four now face trespassing on school grounds charges. Two of them also face further charges of vandalism, for damaging the school’s gate, and possessing burglar’s tools.
Roseville Police ask residents living near schools to keep an extra eye out during the summer, as school vandalisms and burglaries increase during vacation months.
