Metro Fire officials say that a quick attack by crews helped save several homes in rural Sacramento County late Friday afternoon.
Crews showed up near Jackson Highway and Excelsior Road a little before 6 p.m. There, they found a fast-moving grass fire that was threatening some homes in the area.
Due to the threat, crews by land and air immediately started attacking the fire.
In total, 45 firefighters helped douse the blaze. The fire was out within 90 minutes, in spite of some strong winds and dry grasses.
Investigators are talking to witnesses at the scene to try and figure out what sparked the fire.
