It’s the dog days of summer – and that phrase holds true here.
At Sacramento Animal Care Services’ Front Street Shelter, it’s a full house. But one birthday wish may help change that
“I want them all to get adopted.”
Levani Villanueva turned 10, and for her birthday she wanted a one of a kind party
“Trying to collect dog food,” she says.
She wants everyone on her guest list to hold off on presents and bring dog food instead. Her goal is to collect 1,000 pounds. She posted this on Facebook and from there the idea spread.
“I want everyone to support this cause,” Levani says.
And even though it’s Levani’s birthday, you can get a present for coming out Saturday to support her cause.
Levani’s love for animals comes from her relationship with her dog “Pumpkin,” and she hopes more families will make room in their hearts for four-legged friends
The shelter will now be making all adoptions only $10 Saturday, to help celebrate Levani’s birthday. Vaccinations, spaying or neutering, microchiping and more will be included in adoptions.
If you’re interested, head down to the shelter, located at 2127 Front Street, Sacramento, from 12 to 4 p.m.
