FRENCH CAMP-

A large marijuana grow was discovered in a corn field near the jail in French Camp.

The pot was found Monday morning off Endow Road, 16,000 plants were growing among the corn.

The plants have an estimated street value of about $32 million.

The field is about 1 mile south of the San Joaquin County Jail.

Agents from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations joined San Joaquin County narcotics officers to make the bust.

Officials called the find a “sophisticated growing operation”.

Three people were arrested in connection to the marijuana grow, Duangchai Pradabseng, Tim Sang Chanthala and Nom Chanthala. They face charges of illegal cultivation of marijuana.
