NATOMAS—

City officials are still asking North Natomas residents to conserve water as work on a broken water main continues.

The break happened Monday while work was being done on a levee near Arena Boulevard, near Truxel Road. The water main pipe is about 13 feet underground.

Metal sheets have been driven into the sides of the levee in order to secure the structure, as well as ensure that water doesn’t get in the way of repair work.

Crews will be at the levee 24-7 until the repair work is done. A timeframe for the fix has not been established.

Residents are being asked to not water their lawns and limit their water use. The water main services about 27,000 homes and businesses in North Natomas.
