Stockton Standoff Ends, Suspect Nowhere in Sight

STOCKTON—

For hours, U.S. Marshals and the FBI Task Force believed the murder suspect from Georgia was inside of a duplex along Alabama Avenue. But by the time they went into get him, he was long gone.

“This [is] one bad man and he needs to be off the streets, and the Georgia authorities want him back in Georgia – and believe me, here at the Stockton Police Department, we don’t want him here. We want him off our streets and back in Georgia,” said Officer Joe Silva.

Now, Stockton Police are sending out a warning following the standoff that lasted more than 6 hours.

“We had very credible information that he was there and that’s why we had to have our SWAT team come in because he’s armed and dangerous,” Silva said.

But when SWAT went in, Mou Moua was nowhere to be found. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Moua is wanted for the murder of 66-year-old Larry Durham, who was found dead in his Arcade, Georgia residence back in July.

Now police believe Moua could be roaming the streets of Stockton.

“That’s why we released his name and photograph, because if [residents] see him call 911 because he is a homicide suspect and we don’t want our citizens to approach him. We need to approach him, get him arrested and back to Georgia,” Silva said.
