Bryan Cavanah, the 21-year-old man accused of drowning his family’s dog Monday, pleaded not guilty to his charges Wednesday.
In an exclusive interview Cavanah gave FOX40 Tuesday, he cited a condition known as a transient epileptic seizure for the episode. Cavanah claims that one moment he’s was out on a walk with his dog Kia, the next he was in the back of a squad car.
He is facing charges of felony animal cruelty and a probation violation.
The incident happened at the pond at Fairfield’s Civic Center complex. Witnesses from City Hall and other people around the complex reported seeing Cavanah hold the dog under the water.
