Man Who Barricaded Himself in a Rocklin Home Found Dead

The man who barricaded himself in a Rocklin home after a domestic dispute was found dead inside, authorities say.

SWAT and negotiators showed up to the scene near Piute Street and Clipper Court around 4:17 p.m. Dispatchers had gotten a call about a fight between a man and his wife. The man reportedly threatened her with a gun.

The man barricaded himself inside the home, while a woman ran to a neighbor’s home. Police noted that the woman is safe and that they don’t believe anyone else was inside the home with the man.

Neighbors were encouraged to evacuate the area.

Once units moved in some time after 7 p.m., they found the man dead inside, ending the standoff situation. They had been trying to contact the man, to no avail.

The man is believed to be in his 60’s. A handgun was found inside the home, but authorities have not said how the man died.

    What is happening to the Rocklin/Roseville area lately? Not that ANY area is immune, however, these cities are usually very low key. Its pretty disturbing.
