A large, illegal marijuana grow operation was busted early Friday morning by the Butte County Sheriff’s Office, deputies said.
Investigators were tipped off anonymously earlier in the month about a “suspicious marijuana garden” operated by people with guns.
Sheriff’s deputies and SWAT members raided the garden along Elams Ranch Road in Oroville. Two people were taken into custody.
Investigators found several guns, including an AK-47 with a high-capacity magazine and a round in the chamber.
Seventy-four mature marijuana plants were in the garden.
Reynaldo Magana-Espinosa, 55, and 20-year-old Reynaldo Magana-Castrejon, both of Sacramento, were arrested and booked into jail on drug and weapons charges.
