Roseville Police arrested a couple last week suspected of trying to mail four pounds of meth out of state.
The drugs inside the vacuum-sealed package reportedly had a wholesale value of $32,000 and a street value of more than $90,000, police said in a news release Wednesday.
Postal workers reported to cops Sept. 25 that they had a package returned to them. The parcel was said to have had “address abnormalities” and other characteristics that made it seem like the contents were illegal.
Investigators contacted the couple that reportedly sent the package and opened it up, finding the meth inside.
Police say drugs are often sent out of state, where a higher profit could be made.
Shiloh Reyes was arrested on drug trafficking and weapons charges. Reyes’ wife, Jaylene, was also arrested on drug charges and later released with a citation to appear in court.
