Earthquake Strikes off Northern California Coast

A 5.0 magnitude earthquake has struck in the Pacific Ocean close California shores.

Around 3:05 p.m., the quake struck in the waters approximately 32 miles west by northwest of Eureka, the closest city to the disruption. The quake struck at a depth of about 10 kilometers.

The earthquake struck about 240 miles away from Sacramento, less than the distance from Sacramento to Bakersfield.

The official geographic coordinates of the earthquake were: 40.969N, 124.747W.
