Officials are saying that California students are getting healthier and more physically fit, if test results are any indication.
The 2013 Physical Fitness Test shows slight gains for students in 5th, 7th and 9th grades, according to the California Department of Education. About 26% of 5th graders, 32% of 7th graders, and 37% of 9th graders were able to score in what’s considered the healthy fitness zone of all areas.
About 1.34 million California students took the physical fitness test.
Some categories taken into account in the test are aerobic capacity, abdominal strength, upper body strength and flexibility.
