FOX40 was there as Cortez Quinn the Twin Rivers Unified School District trustee arrived for the emergency closed door school board meeting brought on by his legal turmoil.
Quinn was slapped with several felonies for allegedly taking money from a former school district employee, fathering her child and rigging the DNA test, investigators are saying.
The meeting did open for public comment and the community had a lot to say.
“I’m here tonight asking for the resignation of trustee Quinn,” said one speaker. “I demand that you ask for Mr. Quinn’s resignation tonight,” said another.
The meeting lasted for well over two hours, and, eventually, Quinn read a letter to the board and the public.
“This is my official notice that I’m taking a leave of absence for 90 days,” Quinn said.
That action wasn’t enough for the members of the school board, however.
“Recommending that the board vote asking for the resignation for Mr. Cortez Quinn,” board member Michael Baker said.
The vote on Quinn’s job is scheduled for Nov. 15.
