About 70 People Displaced in Arden-Arcade Fire, According to Red Cross
About 70 people were displaced when a fire ripped through an Arden-Arcade apartment Monday night, according to the Red Cross.
The fire happened at an apartment complex on Elvyra Way near Fulton Avenue around 8:30 p.m.
Heath Wakelee from the American Red Cross said a fire affecting this many people in the Sacramento region only happens about four times a year.
Wakelee said about 17 units at the Tuscana Court were affected either because of fire damage, utilities being turned off or apartments being blocked off. He said 7 adults and 5 children were taking shelter with the Red Cross. He says approximately 60 others are either sleeping in their cars for the night or are staying with friends or families.
