Day Care Owners Accused of Filming Children in the Bathroom

TURLOCK–

Adam Henry and his wife Angele were arrested after an investigation that began in September. According to a federal complaint, the couple who ran a child care business from their home used hidden cameras in the bathroom and bedroom to take videos of an unclothed 14-year-old girl.

A tip led members of the area’s high tech task force in the Ceres Police Department to serve a search warrant at Adam Henry’s machine shop business in September. Child porn videos were found on a sharing website on his business computer.

Another search warrant at his home found over 100 child porn videos. Also found were several homemade videos taken from the hidden cameras. One of them shows Angele adjusting a hidden camera in the bedroom. According to the complaint, she convinces the 14-year-old to try on some clothes, even though she appeared reluctant to do so.

“Angele removes the victim’s bra and positions the victim toward the camera … Angele moves the victim’s hair to maintain a line of sight of the victim’s breasts,” Special Agent Mark E. Lucas of the FBI wrote in the complaint.

The court document says the 14-year-old was identified and interviewed. She said she did know she was being recorded on camera.

While federal authorities seem more interested in Adam’s alleged distribution of child porn across state lines, local authorities will be filing charges child porn possession charges against Angele after a separate search of the house yesterday, before the pair were arrested.

Angele posted a $10,000 bail the same day she was booked. Adam appeared in federal court in Fresno yesterday and will have a bail hearing tomorrow, much to dismay of neighbors.

“I don’t think that’s fair for them to bail out so easily. There are a lot of kids here,” said next door neighbor Mo Nissan.

The State Department of Social Services says the couple’s day care business cared for Angele’s 6 and 7-year-old children from a previous marriage and two other minors. The state says Angele voluntarily gave up her license after Adam was arrested after the September searches. He was out on bail when the federal complaint was served.

Ceres police are still looking for any more victims.

“Anybody who was in the Henry home in 2012 or 2013 to make sure their pictures weren’t taken without their knowledge,” said Police spoksperson Carissa Higgenbotham.

The City of Turlock released a statement saying Angele served on the city’s Arts Commission for less than a year and left the commission in May of 2013.
