A garage along Blythe Avenue in Orangevale caught fire Monday morning – the third in two weeks.
The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District says crews responded at about 5:30 a.m., finding an intense garage fire that had spread to the attic. Investigators say the house’s two roofs – a metal roof on top of a wood shake roof – made things tricky for firefighters.
The house itself was saved, according to Sac Metro. Only smoke and water damage in the living area.
Sac Metro says a neighbor reported hearing a pop sound, then seeing flames. Investigators later revealed that the fire was arson.
Firefighters also fought garage fires on Nov. 22 and Nov. 30.
Investigators if Monday’s fire may be related to the other two.
