MODESTO—

Modesto Regional Fire authorities are calling a fire at a vacant south Modesto home suspicious.

Crews showed up at the Frazier Street, near Imperial Avenue, home around 2:21 a.m. just four minutes after getting a report about a fire. They found the roof of the home fully engulfed in flames.

Due to the fire, part of the roof collapsed, causing the HVAC unit on top to fall into the home.

It took crews about 40 minutes to full contain the fire, Modesto Regional Fire authorities say. No one was injured in the fire, but about $80,000 in damage was done.

Investigators are calling the fire suspicious.
