Police are looking for a motive in a shooting that took two people’s lives in Sacramento late Tuesday night.
The shooting happened at Ventura Street and Encinal Avenue around 11 p.m. Tuesday. Police say that a group of men were hanging out in the area when a car drove up. Two people then got out of the car and opened fire, killing one.
The group also returned fire, killing one of the suspects who originally opened fire, police say.
A third person was also shot late Tuesday night. That person showed up at a local hospital and his injuries are possibly connected to the same shooting.
Neighbors say after they heard the shooting, they saw a blacked-out car driving away from the scene.
It’s currently unclear if there is just one suspect or more than one person police are looking for. The identities of the victims have not been released.
