The pop of a cash register was the sound of procrastination on Christmas Eve at the Westfield Galleria mall in Roseville.
“We are procrastinators,” shopper Curt Rocca said. “We put off the good stuff until the very last minute and here we are, trying to get it all in before the deadline.”
As that deadline loomed Tuesday afternoon, some shoppers had to get creative with their purchases.
“Mostly, my wife takes care of everybody else, so I do the stuff for her. [I] make it look like I spent some time on it,” shopper Steve Kolhoff admitted to FOX40.
The bulk of the last-minute crowd at the Galleria was male, but there were fewer people in general than in years past.
“I am surprised how uncrowded it is. We were here earlier in the week and it was absolutely packed,” Rocca said. “Now, I go by the stores and there are more people working in them then there are customers.”
